November 20, 2020
Even though this year has often felt like an eternity, I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for the clients who I have had the pleasure to work with this year. I am so excited for all of my upcoming sessions this winter and spring. As I was brainstorming this 2020 Holiday Gift Guide, I couldn’t help but think of all of my wonderful clients who have supported my small business this year.
That’s why I have created a unique 2020 holiday gift guide for the people who you treasure the most. With Idaho Falls businesses at the forefront (because let’s face it, small businesses need us more than ever), give a gift that does good this year.
Food and Drink
One of my favorite gifts to give (especially for people who I struggle to shop for) is something delicious. Food and drink gifts are perfect gifts for neighbors, friends, and a major bonus? You don’t have to worry about if something is going to fit, be their style, or if they’ll like it. When you buy something tasty for a friend, you know that they will enjoy it.
There are so many fantastic small businesses here in Idaho Falls that create delicious treats and foods ready for pickup. Spotlight our awesome community of chefs, baristas, and bakers, by picking up something local. This 2020 holiday gift guide has delicious treats for everybody in your family, take a look at my curated options below.
Capolera Coffee
A Coffee Subscription from Chapolera Coffee ($11.99/month). The most popular coffee shop in Idaho Falls, Chapolera Coffee, also offers a monthly subscription delivery option, the perfect gift for the coffee connoisseur in your life. Whether it’s pour-over, Chemex, drip, or espresso, this gift will delight and excite even the most discerning palates.
Love at First Bite
A Dozen Delicious Truffles from Love at First Bite ($18.00/dozen). Available for pickup, these truffles are handmade in-store and packaged, so they remain fresh and delicious. My personal favorite? Cherry pistachio. Can’t decide? They offer smaller variety packs as well.
Growler of Idaho Brewing Company
Pick up a Growler of Idaho Brewing Company’s Seasonal Selections (Prices Vary). If you’re looking for a gift for the craft beer drinker in your life, you are bound to find something at the Idaho Brewing Company. With numerous regular and seasonal offerings in rotation, this brewery has defined what it means to have local beer here in Idaho Falls.
Manwaring Cheese
Create an Instaworthy cheese plate using only the best– Manwaring Cheese. 2020 holiday gift guides don’t have to be boring, which is why this cheese is one of my top picks for gift giving. The garlic pepper, pound of pickle, and cajun cheeses are perfection *chef’s kiss*. Build a charcuterie complete with crackers and meats, and you have a gift that people will fight over!
Tandoori Oven
A Gift Card to Tandoori Oven. Travel restrictions got you down? Escape to a new place whenever you feel like it with Tandoori Oven. This is one of my favorite spots for locals and visitors because the service and food are exceptional. Pick up a gift card and show this local restaurant some extra love. Your gift recipient will thank you!
Cookie Boss Co.
Looking for a perfect gift for a teacher, employer, or neighbor? Equal parts delicious and beautiful, Cookie Boss Co. is my go-to if I want to give a gift that will impress. Plus, their shop features lots of great jewelry, unique kitchen utensils, and even a copy of their coveted cookie recipe.
Clothing
If you want to add some style to your 2020 holiday gift guide, Idaho Falls has many fantastic independent boutiques. I love that there is such a distinct and beautiful style in the area, and these shops stay stocked with on-trend, brand name, and well-made clothing.
Love Olive Co.
Love Olive Co. Patty Sweater-Grey ($49.99), Edison Coat-Camel ($78.99), Love Olive Co. features stylish women’s clothing at a price that can’t be beaten! I love popping onto their online store whenever a client asks for session outfit inspiration. If you are looking for something for a friend (or yourself), you’re guaranteed to find it here!
Idaho Stitched
Idaho Stitched Beanies ($52.00) are a perfect cold-weather gift for anybody. I am obsessed with chunky knits and high-quality products from this local knitter.
Kids
Shopping for the littlest gift recipients can be a little challenging, don’t you agree? I often find myself unsure of which toys to buy and gravitating towards beautifully made homemade gifts whenever possible. That’s why I love popping onto Woven for Ella’s Etsy page whenever I need to pick up a children’s gift.
Woven for Ella is a great local artisan who seriously makes the most beautiful dolls for kids of all ages. These dolls are hits amongst kids of all ages. Equal parts beautiful and durable, these dolls are a perfect 10!
Experience Gifts
In the past five years, gifts have seen a transition from things to play with, to stuff to do. Experience gifts are a great way to support local businesses while providing a unique and personal gift to your recipients.
Artitorium
Art classes at Artitorium (they also have take-home kits for a socially distanced art class!). Looking for a gift for somebody who loves art (or trying new hobbies)? The Artitorium is one of my favorite places to pick up a unique gift because they offer classes for students of all ages. Their classes are affordable, fun, and a perfect gift idea for anybody who wants to hone their artistic abilities.
The Edge Climbing Gym
Get moving at the Edge. Does somebody on your list want to get a jumpstart on their New Year’s resolutions? Or do they just want to try something new? The Edge climbing gym is the perfect escape for anybody wanting to get moving. I love picking up session gift cards for an easy and unique gift. These are a great option for avid climbers, but also beginners. The environment is fun, stress-free, and a great workout!

Rush’s Kitchen Supply Co.
Take a cooking class at Rush’s Kitchen Supply Co. . Rush’s is a household name around these parts, and it’s easy to see why. This shop is packed with all of the kitchen essentials you could need, but I also love to offer cooking classes monthly. This month features a perfect Thanksgiving dinner, Greek cuisine, and more. Want to give a gift that will be fun and interactive? A cooking class is equal parts informational and delicious!
Home and Art
You can rarely go wrong with a new piece of decor for a home. That’s why I love picking out special pieces as gifts– it’s a way to provide a special memento that a friend can enjoy each day in their home. Whether it’s a delicious smelling candle, snuggly blanket, or printed photo, decor items are always a hit!
Real Deals
Looking to pick up some beautiful home decor? Real Deals in Idaho Falls is one of my favorite spots for holiday gifts. They feature brands and products that are well-made, trendy, and a great price! If I need to pick something up for a housewarming, holiday, or birthday gift, my first stop is always Real Deals.
Printed Photos
Finally, one of my favorite gifts to give is printed photos from a fantastic portrait session. Let’s face it: most of us have our family pictures taken only to enjoy them from a screen. I am a major advocate of getting photos off of computers and on to walls where they can be properly enjoyed. Whether you print a canvas, photobook, or even frame the portraits, people love receiving printed photos. Not sure where to start when it comes to printing photos? Let’s chat! I have many preferred printing vendors and ideas to help make your family portraits pop once they are printed!
