Classic Family Portrait Session | The Brown Family

Small families are such a pleasure to work with because it’s so easy to get to the hearts of their stories and capture them. Shortly after their daughter’s 13th birthday, the Brown family arrived in Teton National Park to get some beautiful family photos against the backdrop of the mountains.

I’m sure it must have been a momentous occasion for Matthew and Miranda to witness their baby girl become a teenager so this photoshoot was the perfect way to freeze them at this one moment in time. The photoshoot was all about Lyla and, I have to say, it was so fun to take pictures of her against various backdrops and really capture the strong, beautiful woman she’s blossoming into.

The best part of working with small families is that, even with a short amount of time, you get to explore the surroundings and take a variety of shots. We trekked all over the park and got to take shots in front of a crystal-clear pond, amongst the wildflowers, on benches, and against the mountains! I truly enjoyed how easy the Browns made it for me and I especially love the photo of them sitting on a bench with their backs to the camera and Matthew and Miranda clasping hands. It really speaks of the familiarity and love between them.
